The chest x-ray reveals a wide mediastinum and, during the secondary survey, you note a large red mark across his abdomen. A portable ultrasound is performed in the resuscitation room but is non diagnostic because the patient is obese. You are then informed that the patient is too heavy for the CT scanner in your hospital.
