Following a protracted discussion the patient is transported to another hospital that has an appropriate CT scanner. Liaison with cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery and intensive care is also carried out so that appropriate interventions can be carried out, depending upon the clinical state of the patient and radiological findings. The patient eventually leaves the department accompanied by an intensivist and ODP.
