SE/B06/012: Hand and foot disease???

Child on bed
Back to St Emlyn's Reception

1. Base first and second metatarsals, distal 2-4th metatarsal metaphyses
2. The mechanism of injury as it appears to be a fairly high energy injury with so many fractures.
3. Confirm the history by ringing the school. Consistency of the story makes NAI much less likely and it was indeed confirmed.
4. Compartment syndrome
You could admit for elevation and observation for compartment syndrome, or you could refer to the orthopaedic SHO who will put him in a backslab and bring him back to the fracture clinic after the weekend
